Apparel Quality Assurance & Inspection syllabus
The required order: 4 modules, each with lessons, three trainer-reviewed practicals and a server-graded four-question quiz (3 of 4 to pass). Each module opens only after the previous module is complete; modules 1–3 complete open module 4 and the capstone, and the module 4 quiz (the final) opens after the capstone and module 4 practicals are approved. About 10–14 hours of reading and quizzes, plus trainer-led practicals. Free, with no payment now or later.
- Module 1 of 4
Module 1 — Color Evaluation
Confirm that every color judgment is made against the correct, current, approved reference — before looking at any garment. Set up a visual color assessment that follows the applicable procedure, and record the conditions so the result can be repeated. Describe a color difference precisely and choose the correct assessment tool for the question being asked. Evaluate shade across a lot without losing traceability, and document the basis of every decision.
Prerequisite: No prior module required.
Reading — 4 lessons
- Reference and traceability
- Viewing conditions
- Describing color differences
- Lot shade evaluation and reporting
- Module 2 of 4
Module 2 — Workmanship & Defect Assessment
Inspect every garment in the same order so that no area is missed and identity is never lost. Name common workmanship defects correctly and capture evidence that others can rely on. Weigh a defect against the right factors and the applicable defect list — and know when to stop and escalate. Write defect reports that someone else can act on, and count defects according to the authorized plan.
Prerequisite: Read module 1 and pass its quiz first.
Reading — 4 lessons
- A repeatable inspection sequence
- Recognizing defects
- Making a defect judgment
- Reporting, counting and action
- Module 3 of 4
Module 3 — Woven Bottoms Inspection
Prepare woven bottoms consistently so that balance and symmetry can be judged fairly. Check the functional and visual details at the top of woven bottoms methodically. Measure paired features reliably and compare them with the actual specification. Tell genuine leg twist apart from poor presentation, and escalate with evidence rather than assumptions.
Prerequisite: Read module 2 and pass its quiz first.
Reading — 4 lessons
- Preparation and balance
- Waistband, closures and pockets
- Seams, hems and symmetry
- Twisting and escalation
- Module 4 of 4
Module 4 — Denim Quality & Wash Evaluation
Map exactly which wash effects the Brand has approved, and where, before judging any garment. Compare denim with the approved wash range fairly, area by area. Separate approved design effects from defects, without confusing appearance with structural integrity. Check that washing has not weakened construction, and report with full traceability.
Prerequisite: Read module 3 and pass its quiz first.
Reading — 4 lessons
- Approval mapping
- Comparing like areas
- Intentional versus unwanted effects
- Construction after wash and reporting
Course sequence and certificate status
Each module opens only after the previous one is complete: quiz 3 of 4 or better and all three practicals trainer-approved. The certificate needs all four quizzes, all 12 practicals approved and an approved capstone.
