Construction after wash and reporting

Listen to this study
Ready

Lesson 4 of 4

Objective

Check that washing has not weakened construction, and report with full traceability.

Technical explanation

After wash, inspect seams, pocket bags, rivets, zipper, hems and labels.

Suspected weakening (thin fabric, frayed seams, loose rivets) needs the specified authorized test or escalation — not arbitrary manual stretching or pulling.

Keep sample IDs and reference IDs in every report, so findings can be traced back to the wash lot and approval.

Worked case

Factory scenario: thin fabric at the knee

After heavy abrasion, knee areas look thin. Instead of stretching the fabric to test it, the inspector records garment IDs, location and extent, and refers samples for the test in the authorized plan.

Common mistakes

  • Stretching fabric by hand to 'test' it.
  • Skipping pocket bags and labels after wash.
  • Losing the link between sample and reference.
