What you will be able to do
Measure an operation properly: improve the method first, then time it, rate it, add allowances and state the standard minute value with its basis.
The practical work
Pick one sewing operation, record the present method element by element, remove the obvious waste, then take at least ten cycles with a stopwatch. Rate the operator, apply machine and personal allowances, and publish the SMV with the rating and allowance you used written next to it.
