Module 1 — Where circularity is decided

Design, material research and the tech pack lock in a garment's recoverability.

Most of what happens to a garment at end of life is settled long before it is sewn. The fibre blend, the trims, the thread, the interlining and the way panels are joined decide whether a recycler can do anything useful with it. This module works through concept, design and material research, then reads those decisions back out of the tech pack.

By the end of this module: Read a specification and say what it has already made possible or impossible for recovery.
