Formula or method

Marker area (m²) = marker length × usable width; marker efficiency % = total pattern area ÷ marker area × 100; fabric per garment (m) = marker length ÷ garments in the marker.

Worked example

Substitution: Marker area (m²) = marker length × usable width; marker efficiency % = total pattern area ÷ marker area × 100; fabric per garment (m) = marker length ÷ garments in the marker.
Result: 75

Assumptions

Usable width excludes selvedge and any width restriction applied in the cutting room.
Pattern area is the summed net area of every piece nested in this marker, including the cut allowance policy in force.

Limitations
