The daily work

  • Cost the enquiry: fabric and trim consumption, CM, freight, and the negotiation position.
  • Book fabric and trims and chase them until they are in store on the required date.
  • Drive the approval chain — lab dips, fabric, trims, fit and pre-production samples.
  • Maintain the time and action calendar and escalate before a date slips, not after.
  • Answer the buyer clearly, in writing, with numbers.

Qualification

Apparel management, textile or business qualification. Merchandising is the most common office entry route for garment graduates.

  3. 3.Apply as Trainee Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser in a factory or a buying house.
