The daily work

  • Plan markers by size ratio, fabric width and lay length for maximum efficiency.
  • Apply fabric-specific constraints: nap, one-way, stripe and check matching.
  • Issue cut orders and lay plans to the cutting room and track actual versus planned consumption.
  • Feed real marker efficiency back into costing so quotations stop drifting.

Qualification

Apparel diploma or CAD certificate; strong numeracy is the real screening filter.

How to get in

  1. 1.Learn consumption calculation by hand before you touch the software.
  2. 2.Practise on a trial CAD licence and record before/after efficiency on the same size ratio.
  3. 3.Apply as CAD Operator; it is one of the most reliably open entry titles in large factories.
